Standard Gum Disease Prevention For Swollen Gums And Gum Problems
Treatment of swollen gums and gum disease during pregnancy infact helps prevent pre-term labor. Women who have gum disease during pregnancy period are more likely to deliver premature babies compared to mothers to be with gums that are healthy. A woman is at an increased risk for developing both swollen gums, gingivitis and severe periodontal disease during pregnancy due to hormonal changes. It may sound unbelievable but the truth is that majority of women need gum disease treatment when they are pregnant because more than half will develop gingivitis before giving birth.
